Kuwait strips Shiite activist of citizenship

CAIRO — Kuwait has stripped a hard-line Shiite activist of his citizenship after accusing him of trying to stir up discord among Muslims.

The Interior Ministry made the decision Monday after Yasir al-Habib called the Prophet Muhammad's wife, Aisha, an "enemy of God" during an event in London. Such remarks are considered blasphemous by Sunnis, who revere the prophet's wife as being the most beloved to him.

The Kuwait News Agency reported that al-Habib also has been accused of undermining Kuwait's national interests and social system and should be extradited from his current base in London to face a trial.

The Interior Ministry says it's trying to avoid internal strife between Sunnis and Shiites that has been experienced by other countries in the region.

You are right JohnDoe2, as my statement was lacking more clarity.

I was referring to the Moslem citizens not just the state itself. It would seem if a incendiary statement is made that the moderate nation should be able to look past it?

Moderation seems to come in many flavors. If this is moderate, where are the liberals?

It would seem that a Western liberal would see the moderate Muslim as a extremist.

After all, the Christian in this nation that believes in God, guns, and guts is viewed as a extremist by the libs. Heck, it just takes a Ron Paul bumper sticker and we are considered extremists.

How are we to accommodate the "moderate" in this nation is the bigger question.

We are drawing lines, they are lines of hypocrisy. JMO

If only we could strip the citizenship of the OBL activist, the pro-illegal alien activist and the anchor babies.
