Siren Songs and the New York Times

The New York Times is now controlled by Carlos Slim Helu the world's second wealthiest who though he has many business draws most of his wealth from TelMex the Mexican near monopoly. TelMex in turn draws much of it's profits from the termination fees on inbound calls of Mexicans living in the United States. How would a shrewd person in his situation maximize their profits? Increase Mexicans living in the United States.

I talked to a mission organization that operates a medical clinic in Guatemala. Recently they charged someone $15 to remove a cataract from an eye. US average price: $3000
They did a hysterectomy for $350. Average US price: $11,000

They have year around agricultural seasons. No need for heating fuel. No ice -encrusted highways. Why not just stay there?

New York Times is FOS--but they don't even know.

Excellent article. The only thing I would disagree with the author about is his statement that noone is really for mass deportation - his quote below. Though I know it wouldn't be easy or couldn't be accomplished quickly, I personally don't think it is impossible nor "indecent" as the author states. How is it "indecent" for a sovereign nation to deport illegal invaders who sneak across its borders and continue to live illegally within its borders? The only thing is because the US Gov has previously allowed the invasion to happen, I think it would only be fair to give illegal aliens some warning that we are actually going to start enforcing our laws before starting the deportation process.

This was in a post on ALIPAC in the past couple months: There have been a couple times in the past when the US deported millions of illegal aliens, I believe it was to Mexico both times. Both times in the 20th Century, and by two different Presidents.

Though there are more here now, if we started deporting several million, I think many would self-deport.

I would rather the employers of illegals be thrown in jail first. And tax dollars to racist organizations like LaRaza be immediately stopped. I would much rather we enforced the laws against those who are exploiting illegal aliens, and who are providing incentives for them to come here. But because the exploiters have power and influence, that will never happen. They will fight any sanctions against themselves, before they will protect those they love to claim they are protecting and advocating for.

[quote]as the Times will discover to its dismay when the real debate heats up and, as they surely know, no one advocates “mass deportation,â€

I for one support mass deportations. That is our law. It is good law and needs to be abided. I also that if we make a simple announcement that their presence here will no longer be tolerated and that they need to gather, pack and go home that most will do so, but we have to follow-through immediately with deportations to make sure they understand this isn't just idle talk and if they don't leave voluntarily they will be deported in short order.
