As Americans celebrate July 4, they can contemplate that the union of “free and independent states,â€

But don’t hold your breath. From what I have seen, with few exceptions, Americans are as dumb and insouciant as they come. And they think they are the salt of the earth.

WOW! Not only condemning the Post and Washington but the US citizens as well,the way I read it. His article is not telling me anything new about how our government is and its foreign policy (which seems to change with every presidential administration).

I do not feel a majority of Americans are that stupid(or dumb as Mr Roberts puts it),but would lean more towards his word of insouciant (carefreee or lighthearted). And that being because most people DO NOT want to wake up day to day to bad news,so they tend to just ignore it.

There are SO MANY OTHER things out there in todays world that takes peoples time,so not all are involved in our governments actions. OH,they may complain , but to take time out to write or call their government representatives and try to get a little involved takes time from their busy schedules!

So what puts this man above all? Guess will need to write him a short note today and ask.
