Ana Luisa Sanchez Maccise, a Mexican citizen, is neither seeking a path to American citizenship nor living a fitful undocumented existence. Yet she lives and works in Houston, where she sends her son to a local private school. She has another home in Mexico City, where her husband still works. He visits his family in Houston regularly.
Maccise is among a small but growing group of Mexican citizens who are creating parallel lives in the sprawling Texas city; Dallas and San Antonio are other cities of choice.
Their motives are more than economic. They are also seeking a safe haven for themselves and their families, away from the threats of kidnapping, ransom and even murder that are routinely directed at wealthy Mexicans.

Ironic isn't it?
How long will it be before the US is just as bad as most Latin American countries?
Doesn't anyone of Mexican ancestry want to try to reform Mexico? Don't they even want to try?por las chupacabras todo, fuero de las chupacabras nada

Why bother? No effort required to cross the border and live the good, safe life......where's the incentive to change things in your country, when there is another country next door you can have it all in!
Says a lot about Mexican character.........easy way out always!

The crime and kidnappings will follow them here, its just a matter of time.
It is disgusting to see our country being used like this and no one is stopping it.
Once all these Mexican business owners set up shop here in the USA how long before their wealth and buying power isn't enough and the desire for political power is awakened?
Head 'em up,move 'em out Rawhide!

This has been going on in wealthy San Diego border suburbs for years. They have their cheap labor in Mexico and pay no Federal income taxes in the US. We need to adopt Mexico's Constitution...no foreigners can own property near the borders or coastal areas. Better yet, we should kick them all out of our country and force them to reform their own country! I'm just getting sick of EVERYTHING Mexican in my country!
