A motorcyclist in Colorado pulled over on the side of the road just after 6pm to put on some additional clothing.

That’s when three young men in a Honda Accord pulled up behind him. Two of the men exited the vehicle and demanded money from the motorcyclist.

At least one of the suspects was armed with a knife.

The motorcyclist, however, refused to comply. He punched the man carrying the knife and then drew a legally carried handgun.

The men ran back to their car and took off at the site of a gun.

Police have not yet made any arrests in the crime.

According to Gazette.com, the incident happened at 3800 block of Marksheffel Road in El Paso County, CO about 6:25 p.m.

This is a great example of a defensive gun use in which no shots were fired and no one was injured. Because, like most defensive gun uses, no one was injured and no shots were fired, this incident likely will not be included in most studies dealing with self defense, which usually only take justifiable homicide cases into account.
