Here is a letter I just recieved from my Senator concerning SPP, NASCO, Nafta super highway and his opinions on these topics. He is definately a NAU supporter

Dear_____________

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) OF North America. I appreciate hearing your views and the opportunity to respond to you on the this important matter.

Like you, I believe that securing our borders is an integral component of any comprehensive immigration reform. That was made evident by my vote for the Sessions amendment to H.R. 5631, The Department of Defense Bill, appropriating $1.829 trillion for the Army Nation Guard to construct a border fence. Additionally, I supported S.2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, which authorizs the construction of 370 additionl miles of border fences and 500 miles for vehicle barriers along the border.

Our national security is paramount, however our transportation infrastructure and a more expansive highway system are also essential, providing us with the ability to move not only people, but goods freely and efficiently throughout our country. In terms of a "NAFTA Superhighway", there may have been a misunderstanding. I would like to share with you an excerpt from the North American SuperCorridor Coalition's (NASCO) WEBSITE.

"Recently reports from the Internet have confused the terms "NAFTA Superhighway" with NASCO corridor. The "NASCO Corridor" is the existing infrastructure of Interstates 35,29 adn 94. No plans are in place for a mid-continent NAFTA Superhighway... the federal government has directed more than $234 million in project funding towards the NASCO Corridor for current infrastructure improvements.

I believe there are great economic opportunities afforded to the United States by hemispheric cooperation. The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) is an initiative between the US and the two nations who share borders - Candada and Mexico- to increase security and enhance prosperity among the three countries through greater cooperation. According to the SPP, they are not considering the creation of a European Union-like cooperation. Their initiative includes improving productivity, reducing the cost of trade, and enhancing the quality of life in our region. With all three nations working together, we can be more efficient in terms of customs, border patrol and transportation. I believe we can have dialogue between nations that does not pose a threat to our sovereignty, but can provide an opportunity to increase the standard of living in all three nations.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of additional assistance, and visit my website
