    Guns at rallies...good or bad?

    Will a telephone protect you?

I hope this does not upset the guides or mods of Alipack and you will understand my intent is not to incite. Yes I have read the laws for the forum and hope I am within the law with my questions. I am a pacifist and pose this question not to promote one way or the other. I quote directly from our Constitution with questions of the Constitution.

The evils of guns? What have guns ever done for America? They have put food on the table, protected our families and homes and won every victory for freedom that has ever been fought in this land. This country would not be here if not for them. Now they are evil? Are guns evil…or are men evil?

Quote: “…A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed…â€

Just follow your thoughts through to conclusion, millions of unorganized pissed off gun owners waving around guns all with their own version and perception of what they want! It can only end bad with people shooting each other in the streets! Half of the people that I know that own guns barley even know how to use them properly..... It would put us in line with all the other 3rd world countries that were better than. Just because our current strategy is not working violence makes it no better. If we can all find common ground that is the answer, if not were just doomed to be slaves of an out of control government. It took a long time for the devils to rear their ugly head but now at least we know what were up against! I see things going the opposite direction after the mid terms. No guns required.

I am a Farmer Hunter Marksman II decorated and legal gun owner and I am considering getting a concealed weapons permit. Worry about me? Only if we find ourselves on opposing sides of the Constitution in an all out revolution. Lead follow or get out of the way. But all I asked was a simple question…

This is a hard question and not pleasant to think about or consider…but many are thinking about it and I hear more about it everyday. This is not a possible scenario…because it is already happening with far reaching ramifications.

I find it an interesting question with all the patriot talk and storm brewing going on. I think it is time to start addressing the issues of the very real threat of revolution. Sadly...a State militia is mandate by the Constitution and should be embraced by the public...but the government has instilled such fear mongering that men with guns without some kind of stupid badge are feared now. Very sad.

I don't know what to think of it. On one hand I can appreciate the statement and sentiments but on the other it scares me too. Some groups say to show up unloaded just as a show of “we are getting serousâ€

    HLC,

I have really thought long on this point. It is definitely a reaction to what is going on in the Halls of Congress. I can sympathise with people's frustrations, afterall, I have been experiencing those same frustrations. And what should be a normal reaction by Americans, these days has been treated as being radical, and crazy and unacceptable.

The biggest fear with that approach, is somebody will always take it too far. This approach of marching with arms, even if unloaded, is courting danger. It will incite more reaction, because the police will feel intimidated, and it could, and probably will escalate as one side reacts to the other. The reaction will be based on fear, from both sides. Let us not forget there's usually one in every crowd who does something stupid.

It smells of the Boston Massacre. And if civilians are injured or worse, it could easily errupt beyond there. That is what I fear the worst for my fellow countrymen.

Until every avenue of diplomacy is exhausted, I would be weary of this approach.
