Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Child



A 34-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a child. An 11-year-old girl from the Woodbridge area was visiting a home in the 6100 block of Willston Drive, in the Seven Corners area, on Monday, August 14. At 2 p.m. the girl walked outside to play and was approached by a man. The man enticed the girl to go underneath a stairwell in the building where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect fled the area when he heard a person nearby. The victim immediately reported the incident to family members who called police. She did not have any apparent injuries.

An investigation led police to charge 34-year-old Jose Nelson Martinez-Cordero in the assault. Martinez-Cordero, of 2923 Peyton Randolph Drive #201 in the Falls Church area, was charged with aggravated sexual battery and attempted rape.
