BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A man's claim that he was struck in the head with a machete has Kern County deputies searching for the suspects.

It happened Saturday about 3:30 p.m. when deputies were called out to the Village Trailer Park on Union Avenue near Ming Avenue. That's where they found 39-year-old David Coleman with two cuts to the back of his head and an injury to his shoulder.

Deputies said he told them four Hispanic men came up to him and one of them hit him in the head with a machete and then they ran off.

He was taken to Kern Medical Center with moderate injuries, which weren't considered life threatening.

Deputies are still looking for those suspects.
