Cardinal Mahony Strikes Again: Give Me Your Illegals

Cardinal Mahony Strikes Again: Give Me Your Young, Strong, Dues-Paying Male Illegals—Toss Out Your Old Tired Faithful American Female Employees
    By Donald A. Collins

You know how anxious Los Angeles Roman Catholic Archbishop Roger Mahony has been to import more illegal aliens into America, eventually to overstuff America's ballot boxes with the solid votes of these grateful supporters.

Writing in the online magazine American Chronicle (Above the law, Jan. 27, 2006), Barbara Anderson pointed out the strong influence the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops on immigration policy.

It has caused Catholic pulpits nationwide to urge open borders for legal immigrants and illegal aliens alike, she notes. "The Catholic Campaign for Human Development uses money from generous Catholics to train illegals to lobby and agitate for 'rights' for illegals," says Anderson.

The power of this Catholic hierarchy to influence immigration policy in the US is simply not well understood.

Well, good old Roger the Dodger (of immigration laws and sanity) is at it again. As Karl Vick reports in the Washington Post article Nuns' Evictions Pose Perception Problem for Catholic Church (October 4th 2007):

"In Southern California, where the Roman Catholic Church has agreed to pay victims of pedophile priests $660 million, the archdiocese is ordering nuns out of convents so the buildings can be sold to fund the out-of-court settlement."

"Here in Santa Barbara, the sins of the fathers are being visited on the Sisters of Bethany. The three nuns living in a modest building on Nopal Street received an eviction notice last month ordering them to be out by Dec. 31. Earlier ‘would be acceptable as well,’ the letter said."

I guess Mahony must really want those young, healthy, dues-paying mostly male Hispanic parishioners if he’s willing get rid of old faithful nuns like Sister Angela Escalera, 69—who, diabetic and able to get around only with a walker, had hoped to live out her days in the Santa Barbara convent:

"This is how the archdiocese is going about getting the money to pay off the victims," said her younger sister, Rosemary Escalera Gutierrez, 64, a former nun in the order.

“‘She said: “It's such a heavy price to pay for such an ugly thing,â€

I believe that there is a duel mandate here....

    1. There is a monitary factor for the Catholic church and the coffer needs to be replenished because of 2 reasons
    a. Recent sex abuse law suits totaling a half a Billion Dollars
    b. Future sex abuse law suits

    2. With all of the deportations of the young males ... the Catholic clergy is becoming sexually frustrated

I can scarcely believe the divide between the Roman Catholic leadership and the rest of the country. And I wonder how many RC leaders actually share Mahony's views. Many spirtual Americans have found a means of service by going out into the world and doing many good things for poorer countries. This hurts no one. They are law abiding people and even if they are not always accorded a hero's welcome abroad, at least they are not despised and becoming a burden to the local people. Only in the rarer cases will local officials interfere with their work or harass them.

But a certain segment of the US population is adamant that letting any needy person into this country who wants to come is the religious duty of all Americans. We simply cannot do that without destabilizing this very land which has already been, and will in the future be, the greatest blessing to the planet. These people spin in their own little world, completely ignorant, it seems, of the great outpouring of generosity that is embedded deeply within the American character.

There has been some discussion of filing a complaint with the IRS regarding the overt political activity of the RC church and similar groups. Some churches have had their non-profit status successfully challenged for endorsing candidates belonging to one of the American Parties. As far as I know there is nothing in non-profit law that restricts this endorsement only to major American political parties--the Republicans and Democrats. It should also apply to foreign political parties, when the religious group forms such a strong link to them that they function cooperatively. It could also include the Libertarian Party, the Communist Party---- and political parties south of the border, as well. I would think it would include not only advocating voting for a specific party--but fulfilling the agenda of one, too.

If anyone is interested in taking on this issue let me know. The bigger they come, the harder they fall....

Views like Mahoney's are among the reasons I will no longer give money to Catholic Charities.

Sanctuary for pedophile priests and illegals are both morally wrong and illegal.

When any non-profit religious institution interferes with its government, their non-profit status should be revoked.

Another issue the liberals probably haven't seen coming is a repeal for Roe vs. Wade. To Roman Catholics, hispanics among them, abortion is a sin.

I would be interested, but I am warning you, I am an amature at this kind of thing. Cardonal Mahoney has done what centuries of British occupation could not do. He has convinced an O'************ to leave the church.

The current European problem is pregnant nuns.

At least that's normal, I guess. I've actually met a defrocked nun (she wasn't pregnant though, at least as far as I know). She's still a devout (by which I mean blind) Catholic though, which doesn't make up for her good looks.

My husband suggests that all of the catholics who are leaving because of Mahoney, or just don't care about being catholic anymore, should all send our baptismals and confirmation papers to Rome in protest of the good Cardinals endangering of our lives and those of our children

I asked him if it really would do any good. He says skirting on the sex scandals, Rome is not going to want to risk anything else big happening in the US. Especially if someone is raped or killed that Cardinal Mahoney personally helped. He thinks the pope might muzzle him a bit.

After all, he has proof it is the flock the cardinal was supposed to be attending that are scattering out of the fold.
