SPRING HILL, Tenn. - Instead of jobs, GM continues to send more promises to the folks in Spring Hill.
A top executive for the automaker said there isn't enough U.S. demand yet for cars and trucks to justify re-opening the Spring Hill manufacturing facility.
He indicated that if demand does increase beyond the company's current manufacturing capabilities, the Spring Hill plant would be the first option to start back up
The plant shut down most operations the week of Thanksgiving 2009, putting hundreds out of work.
