A massage therapist at the Red Door Lifestyle Spa in the Hyatt Regency hotel was arrested Monday and charged with sexual battery and exposing his genitals to a female client.

On Friday, a 49-year-old woman from Virginia was laying face down, getting a massage from Dayron Escobar, 24, of Pembroke Pines, when the Broward Sheriff's Office says he touched her inappropriately.

According to a Sheriff's Office complaint affidavit, the client noticed that Escobar's pants zipper was down.

She reported the incident to management and Escobar left the spa, where he had worked for four years without any prior complaints, BSO said.

The Florida Department of Health website lists Escobar as a licensed massage therapist with no public complaints or disciplinary actions against him.

He was born in Colombia and is being detained in the Broward County jail on an immigration hold, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Employee At Broward County Spa Arrested On Sexual Battery, Exposure A Broward County masseur is accused of inappropriately touching a woman during a spa session.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives said Dayron Escobar was arrested Monday on charges of sexual battery and exposing sexual organs.

Detectives said a 49-year-old woman went to the Red Door Lifestyle Spa at the Hyatt Regency on Friday to get the "signature stress melter ritual." The service included a body wrap, an exfoliation and a massage.

While the woman was lying face down during the massage, Escobar asked her if she wanted him to stop, detectives said. When she said no, Escobar inappropriately touched her, detectives said.

The woman immediately got up and Escobar apologized, saying he thought she wanted it, detectives said. She also noticed Escobar had exposed his genitals, detectives said.

By the time the woman reported the incident to management, Escobar was gone, detectives said.

Escobar worked at the spa for about four years.
