In a conference call with reporters and bloggers, Doug Hoffman campaign spokesman Rob Ryan addressed his concern about the possibility of ACORN interfering in New York's 23rd district. Mr. Ryan referred to a case in Troy, New York where the Working Families Party was recently caught in a voter fraud case. Mr. Ryan said:

"A special prosecutor was named at the end of September, because Working Families Party was infvolved in the forgery of absentee ballots, and they caught them red-handed. This is something we are afraid of here in the district. We are afraid of the unions coming in, of ACORN coming in, of Move-on types coming in, and we want to see a clean legal election. We know if that's the case, we win. Our Chief counsel is going to court tomorrow morning in Essex county. The ballots that are being counted...the voting machines could not have them added, so there are paper ballots out there, and we do not want paper ballots being counted at the polling places. We want them counted with the absentee ballots at the board of elections."

The call was organized by the American Conservative Union’s political action committee. Bloggers on the call included: John Hawkins of Right Wing News, Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com, Moe Lane of RedState.com, Washington Independent's David Weigel, and Washington Times news reporter Amanda Carpenter. Several local New York bloggers were also on the call that was hosted and moderated by Robert Stacy McCain of the American Spectator and GOP activist Ali Akbar.

One has to wonder that "if this being done in a district with a relatively small voting population how easy could it go undetected where the voting population is much, much greater?"

TexasBorn, one difference is starting to show between the MN race and NY 23. MN race recieved much news coverage concerning fraud and discrepencies(?) NY 23 seems to have been neglected by the MSM.

Glen Beck just had Hoffman on his morning radio show. Hoffman said there is still 10,000 absentee ballots, many military ballots amongst them that still have not been counted. Hoffman also said he would not have conceeded had he been aware of that. Hoffman is down by 2,000 votes and would have too win 55 to 60% of those ballots.

The interview seemed less than adequate. Beck seemed somewhat removed from the totality of what could have been a significant interview and topic. Beck made some jokes about Hoffman not being "Mr. Electric" as he has done in the past. Nothing was said about the certification of the election or the implications of the Health Care vote in the House.

This is the only thing that I have heard about this race since this topic was posted here at ALIPAC.

Hoffman also mentioned something about a Sequoia voting machine being used in the district. The Sequoia according to Hoffman had been discontinued in CA. I am left to believe that this system is electronic.
