Media Blackout: 12 yr old Savannah, GA boy executed in racial hate crime

d, a white 12 year old was targeted for an execution style murder by an adult black male in Savannah GA.

The local media has been censoring race from the story. If the races had been reversed, it would have been an instant nation-wide media event. Instead it was a heavily censored “hush crime.”

Keith Passmore, 12, attended a birthday party for another black kid on November 22nd. When he was leaving an adult black male decided it would be fun to murder him. After Passmore got in a pickup truck to go home, a black male walked up to the truck and shot Passmore execution style.

Police say that others at the party are not co-operating. The birthday party occurred in a black neighborhood and police have encountered a uniform wall of silence, even though there was undoubtedly witnesses.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WJCL) — Police say Keith Passmore, 12, was shot during a house party on Vicksburg Drive. About thirty people were at the party but officers say no one has come forward with information on what led to this shooting death.

WJCL’s Meghan Schiller knocked on the front door of the home at the center of Savannah’s most recent murder. No one was home. Neighbors say this is not the first time police lights have flashed on their street, but it’s the first time something this tragic happened.

“I heard like five gunshots and the car sped off,” said Jacquita Edwards. “I came and I looked out the window and I saw a bunch of kids crawling around. It’s a little devastating. It’s heartbreaking because it was a 12-year-old and I have three kids of my own and they play out here.”

Now the family of 12-year-old Keith Passmore is begging for answers, hoping someone will come forward with new details.
“We need closure. The family needs closure,” said Debra Bartels, aunt of victim. “If somebody doesn’t break this silence and say anything there’s going to be another child, then another child, then another child.”

Passmore is the third child shot in the span of a week – and the second fatality. Police don’t yet have a suspect.

“Well one thing that’s bothering us is we haven’t had any answers. We don’t know how many times he was shot, what time he was shot.

We know nothing. Nothing,’ said Bartels.

Police tell WJCL they questioned the kids at the party, but said not everyone cooperated. The family tells WJCL that Keith did try to act older than his age and they’ve been trying to get him to stop hanging out with the kids he was with the night of his murder. His aunt said she and Keith’s mom were waiting up for him Saturday night.

“She had just locked the door,” said Bartels. “She said I’m gonna teach him a lesson. She usually leaves the door open for him. And she says I’m gonna teach him a lesson and not five minutes later the knock at the door was the policeman and we thought it was Keith.”

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WJCL) — WJCL was the first to report on yet another child shot in Savannah.

Now Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are seeking a Savannah man after a 6-year-old girl was shot in a domestic dispute this morning.

Brandon Maurice Stewart, 20, is being sought after Violent Crimes detectives determined that the child was shot during a domestic dispute between him and the child’s mother.

Shauneequa Jones, 22, called police to Wheaton Street near East Broad Street about 8:44 a.m. Thursday. She reported she was walking her daughter to school and heard a noise before her daughter complained and she discovered the child had been shot.

Police searched their apartment nearby on Wilder Street and discovered the shooting actually took place there.

While detectives continued their investigation into the shooting, Police Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin Sr. issued a warning for adults who keep weapons in a residence with children and those who knowingly live with individuals legally prohibited (convicted felons, etc.) from possessing weapons.

“The Second Amendment right to bear arms is accompanied by the responsibility to use due care,” he said. “This is particularly important in situations where children are present. This current situation easily could have become a tragedy from which many would never recover.

“Parents also should be wary of living with felons possessing firearms. Convicted felons have forfeited the right to bear arms and the fact that they have weapons should be a strong indication that they cannot be trusted, particularly with your child’s safety. Anyone who knows of such a situation should report it to police immediately.”
