Mexican drug wars create demand for hitman and acid baths

Drug-related violence sweeping Mexico has created a soaring demand for hit men and people who can dispose of bodies, a conference has heard.

Criminal psychiatrists said dozens of killings linked to drug cartels every day have led to a boom in the number of bodies dissolved in acid.

Scientists at Mexican Institute of Forensic Science conference highlighted the case of Santiago Meza Lopez, known as "the soupmaker", who was arrested by authorities last January.

The 45-year-old gained notoriety after admitting that he had made about 300 bodies, victims of murderers for hire, "disappear" by dissolving them in acid.

An estimated 5,300 people were killed in Mexico in 2008 in criminal activities blamed on drug cartels.

Mexican psychologist Feggy Ostrosky said killers for hire "were very proud of their work, to the point that they effectively admit what they are doing".

She based her conclusion on her prison interviews with more than 270 dangerous criminals, some of whom included hired guns working for drug cartels.

They work "quickly and well," said Ostrosky. They have few contacts with their clients who "call them only to give them a target for elimination" using codes created by the hit men themselves.

"The compensation aspect of the job is unquestionably its key attraction," stressed Martin Barron, a lawyer and researcher with the Mexican Institute of Forensic Science.

He cited the case of Lopez who used to work a bricklayer before he embarked on his gruesome career.

"They paid him $600 dollars per corpse," Barron said. "Had he continued working as a bricklayer, how much would he make? Do you believe it would have be easy for him to make $600?"

Ostrosky believes that killers for hire are psychopaths. She says they are "not crazy, indeed even reasonable," but they are devoid of compassion and without the slightest sentiment of guilt.

"If somebody tells them, 'You kill people just like you, people who have children,' they reply, 'But this is my job,'" adds Ostrosky, pointing out that hired guns often cite the precariousness of their future.

Their careers usually don't last more than three years as they themselves are often murdered by rivals or by their bosses.

The list of horrors perpetrated by the cartels in recent years includes mass murders and piling up of decapitated bodies. In one case, the removed head was replaced by a pig's head.

And the roster does not even include corpses dissolved in acid.

These criminals are representative of the illegal thug population that Obama wants to Amnesty into our country.

This is what happens when rules are compromised and not enforced. How bad can I make it for you where you Cave?

I learned this in Parenting classes!!!!!!!!! It's a test of the limits.... or test of the wills........Change the line and you loose....Make exceptions and you loose. Either stand for something or you stand for nothing. Once they know you stand for nothing.....anything is game. Right now....we stand for NOTHING!!!!!!! Or else you can sit in a locked bathroom, with your child destroying everything you own and claim you are a good parent.

I am not a Rush Fan. I find him him to be very egotistical and an element of the extreem. But he did say the truth. Learned this years ago. There is no such thing as "compromise" when you really believe in something.

When you believe in something, you take responsibility for however it goes in either direction......if you can't handle both.....you stand for nothing.

All Americans must insist on truth on all levels.

Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.â€

Meanwhile, Calderoni continues to assert that he has everything under control and denies the violence has reached a stage of 'crisis.'
