    Mexican tour bus overturns in Texas, killing 2

    CAMPBELLTON, Texas (AP) -- A Mexican tour bus carrying about 35 people overturned along a southern Texas highway on Tuesday, killing at least two people and injuring an unknown number of others, an official said.

    The accident happened around 10 a.m. on southbound Interstate 37, about 45 miles south of San Antonio, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Tom Vinger told The Associated Press.

    The bus came to rest on its side in the grassy median. Television footage showed people milling around outside the overturned bus, which had with debris and luggage strewn around it.

    An unknown number of injured people were transported to San Antonio hospitals, Vinger said. He did not know if the driver was among the injured.

    The bus was traveling from San Antonio to Matamoros, Mexico, Vinger said.

    Texas tour bus crash kills 2, injures 18

    (CNN) -- A tour bus carrying at least 35 people rolled over Tuesday near Campbellton, Texas, killing two people and injuring more than a dozen, an official told CNN.

    Tommy Cavazos, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said that 18 people were injured in the Americanos tour bus crash on Interstate 37, about 50 miles south of San Antonio in southern Texas.

    Most of the injured are being transported to San Antonio's Brooke Army Medical Center and University Hospital, Cavazos said.

    The bus, which was headed to Matamoros, Mexico, flipped and landed on its right side, he said.

    The names of those killed were not released.

    Video from the scene showed the bus lying on its side in the highway's grassy median, with clothing and other items scattered on the ground nearby.

    Emergency personnel, including fire trucks and ambulances, were on the scene.

    Mark Baldon, who came upon the crash shortly after it happened Tuesday morning, said he saw the bus "smoldering," CNN affiliate KSAT reported.
