[Watch] Bergdahl Left Letter When He Deserted, Renounced U.S. Citizenship

Fox News’ National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin has learned that debriefings of members of Bowe Bergdahl’s unit revealed the existence of a note he left behind when he deserted his post.
In that note he expressed his disillusionment with the U.S. Army and his desire to renounce his U.S. citizenship.
The letter is not being released as it is evidence into a Pentagon investigation into the Bergdahl issue. Members of his former unit are also being questioned as a part of that investigation.
General Martin Dempsey was non-committal but does not rule out an investigation into desertion, saying, “Our Army’s leaders will not look away from misconduct if it occurred.”
The individual soldiers who were involved directly with Bergdahl and the events surrounding his disappearance have all been required to sign disclosure agreements, initially reported as being due to the nature of his being a captive and in an interest of his protection. That situation no longer exists but the agreements remain in effect.
