    More job losses

PULASKI -- Pulaski Furniture Corp. will close one of its plants and lay off about 119 employees in December.

    • Comment: "Auto parts maker Affinia Group Inc. will close its brake parts factory in Cuba by the end of the first quarter of 2007 as the company, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., consolidates production at other facilities. About 250 people at the Missouri facility will be affected by the closure.

    Detroit News
    • Comment: "Free trade policies replaced the work of 764 Michigan companies with imported goods between George W. Bush's election and today. About 86,000 workers were laid off, according to trade adjustment applications. By this measure, nearly half of Michigan's manufacturing job loss in the past six years was due to poor trade policies."

Overall in America, more than 1 million manufacturing jobs were lost in our nation due to NAFTA. George W. Bush's administration has promoted 14 more free trade agreements, including one for Central America.

This is not just a Michigan problem.

Since 2000, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York each have lost between 170,000 and 200,000 jobs (Michigan lost about 220,000). While our state saw 24 percent of our manufacturing jobs lost, these four states all saw a loss of more than 20 percent each.

If many candidates are talking up job loss more than illegal immigration, this might explain why there are so many running that aren't paying attention to the "invasion".

    Hmm

Now someone tell me how the government can keep saying unemployment is at such a record low when we ALL know millions of Americans have lost their jobs since 2000? Can we say "cook the books"!

It is my understanding that once someone no longer receives unemployment benefits they fall off the numbers. So if this is the case, once again, we are being lied to.

They Lie, they play with the numbers until they come up with something that the American public will swallow.
