Military finds ammo, weapons in Juárez prison

Mexican military police found a pair of AR-15 assault rifles and ammunition hidden in the Cereso prison in Juárez, military officials said.

The rifles were found Friday inside plastic bags under a recently installed piece of concrete in the conjugal visit section.

A few weeks ago, soldiers confiscated a live grenade and a machine gun at the prison, which has a history of riots and gang warfare. Troops have been assisting prison security as part of Joint Operation Chihuahua.
