Chavez seizes U.S. rice plant

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has seized a rice mill owned by U.S. food giant Cargill, alleging that the plant was skirting government price controls by producing a variety that is not regulated.

Agriculture officials were told to "begin the expropriation process," The Associated Press says. Chavez ordered the Cargill facility to produce standard white rice that is subject to price regulations.

"I warn you, this revolution means business," said Chavez, according to Reuters.

Over the weekend Chavez ordered troops to seize other rice-producing plants he accused of violating price controls.

This guy is a nut! How dare a rice plant produce a variety of rice Chavez does not like. Whether he realizes it or not, he is destroying his country's future of investment from the US. I am sure this wacko is pretty tight with China.

Watch for far more of this type of thing. It's been coming for awhile and how anyone didn't see it coming is beyond me.

All of those American businesses who thought they were so cute moving their operations out of the country and putting millions of Americans out of work while decimating our manufacturing base?

Well, they're not going to find it so "cute" anymore as the governments of these country seize control AND the profits. Any guesses as to how long it will before Chavez decides to expel all American owners and employees of that plant and tell them "Tough. It's mine now"

And who is going to help them? There is nobody to help them.

Just another classic example of Americans building it and the abject failures of the world deciding to just take it.....all with the added bonus of gaining a control over the US population that NO ONE should ever have been given the chance to gain.
