Most Flushes in Mexico City Go Straight into the Enviorment

At a recent world conference on safe water, held in Mexico City, the fact that most of that city's waste water goes untreated was published.

A year or two ago, I had a conversation with a Mexican immigrant, who spoke perfect English, about his hometown - Mexico City. He described his joy to be living in America where he and his family could breathe clean air instead of breathing the fouled air of his homeland. And he added that his family had escaped from the huge piles of garbage which surround that metropolitan area of 20 million people.

Do Americans want these plights to befall our beloved homeland? If we continue on the present course then the same enviormental problems which plague Mexico are certain to occur here.

I am not sure which number it is now, but Mexico City not so long ago when I was trying to find statistics about Cairo Egypt, was in the top five most polluted cities in the world.
