Muslims claim that they believe and love Jesus so why should they object? Guess we can figure out quite easily that is a deception. Welcome to America to BE AMERICAN not to destroy, defame or desolve America. Otherwise you're not welcome. That would self-destructive for us as a nation would it not?

How do you feel about the fact that U.S. troops are using guns branded with Bible verse?

I am all for it. Our troops need all the support they can get -- God's especially. 58%

I am against it. Military rules prohibit proselytizing, and this may offend civilians in Muslim nations. 39%

    Not sure. 3%

The New Zealand military has announced that they will remove the references from their troops' weapons and request that the manufacturer delete them from any further purchases made by N.Z.. They said they do not consider the verses "appropriate", especially when their troops are being sent into harm's way in predominantly Muslim regions. I agree - it's not up to the arms manufacturing company, from whatever nation or of whatever faith, to make this kind of judgment call for others. Imagine the uproar in this country if the references had been to verses from the Koran!

Firm will remove Bible references from gun sights

    The Associated Press

    Thursday, January 21, 2010; 1:33 PM

WASHINGTON -- A Michigan defense contractor will voluntarily stop stamping references to Bible verses on combat rifle sights sold to the U.S. military, a major buyer of the company's gear.

In a statement released Thursday, Trijicon of Wixom, Mich., says it also providing to the armed forces free of charge modification kits to remove the Scripture citations from the telescoping sights already in use. The Marine Corps has purchased more than 200,000 Trijicon sights and the Army has bought about 100,000.

The references raised concerns the citations break a government rule that bars proselytizing by American troops.

Trijicon: No more Bible references on rifle scopes

A company under fire for etching biblical references on rifle scopes used by the U.S. military said Thursday it will stop the practice, and offered to provide modification kits to the Pentagon to enable their removal on existing optics.

Michigan-based Trijicon Inc. made the announcement in a statement released by Levick Strategic Communications, a Washington, D.C.-based firm that specializes in crisis management.

“Trijicon has proudly served the U.S. military for more than two decades, and our decision to offer to voluntarily remove these references is both prudent and appropriate,â€
