Ben Nelson tries to repair damage at home

Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his wife were leaving dinner at a new pizza joint near their home in Omaha one night last week when a patron began complaining about Nelson’s decisive vote in favor of the Senate’s health care bill.

Other customers started booing. A woman yelled, “Get him the hell out of here!â€

I still suspect that Nelson didn't do this willingly......I fully believe that he was threatened and then tied up in this deal to make sure he kept his mouth shut.

Our government is now being run by Chicago mob style tactics, what happened with Nelson follows the very distinctive profile characteristic of that kind of criminal arm twisting, and, to all appearances it just doesnt make a lick of sense that Nelson would've done such a complete turn around.

Thinking about it, what did he really "gain" from this......a career that's over, his character and credibility in shreds AND implication in some pretty serious criminal acts? Who would want that, let alone someone who was adamant in sticking to their convictions on this issue of HC reform, and, up until this point evidently had done nothing but earn the respect of Nebraskans, political colleagues, etc?

It sounds more like what happened was that he was holding up the show, he was threatened with closure of the AFB and then TOLD exactly what he was going to do....deny the threats, "accept" this deal.....and if he ever even thought about talking not only was his character and credibility now impeached but he's also "guity" of crimes which would ruin him for life and see him in jail for one good long time.

I don't believe for one minute that this is what it looks like.....it just doesn't fit.

If he voted the way his constitutes wanted he wouldn't have any problem....now would he..
