First Spanish Radio Station In Charlotte To Shut Down Broadcast After 14 Years

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Families share their sorrow with local radio personalities today, as Radio Lider announces it will be going off the air.
The first Spanish-Speaking radio station in Charlotte began broadcasting 14 years ago but announcer Jorge Lozano says it will shut down tomorrow night.
“A lot of that has to do with the downturn in the economy. We all know advertisers just aren't spending a lot of money,â€"Distrust and caution are the parents of security."

theres a new opening in Mexico I hear ... more residents going home means a bigger need for radio stations south of the border
