RALEIGH – Joe the Plumber is in Raleigh Wednesday for a rally outside the General Assembly against raising taxes.

Tuesday, nonprofit organizations from all across the state rallied at the same spot in support of raising taxes to balance the state's struggling
budget.

But Wednesday Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, who rose to
fame last year when he asked then-senator Barack Obama about his tax plan, joined protesters at a tea party rally.

Organizers with the Take Back Our State coalition say they expect 2,000 people to attend. Protesters want to let state lawmakers know they don't want to see higher taxes to make up for the $4.6 billion budget shortfall.

"Pay your dues, serve your country, but don't let the country take advantage of you," Wurzelbacher said.

Ron Setzer, a Winston-Salem resident, said he hopes the rally sends a message."We've asked them to reduce our taxes and quit spending money like crazy and they don't listen. And there are some of us who have just had enough," Setzer said.
