With all the talk about DOGE looking to deal with reckless spending, Rep. Zach Nunn has decided to jump on the bandwagon and introduced a so-called balanced budget amendment that has been around for years. The only problem with Zach's amendment is, it does not compel Congress to balance the annual budget but would actually make it constitutional for Congress to add to the national debt year after year as is now the case.


Currently, the only proposed balanced budget amendment which would effectively end Congress adding to the national debt year after year, after year is, the "Fair Share Balanced Budget Amendment" which is our Founder's remedy to deal with a deficit created by Congress's borrowing.


And I still cannot find the DOGE team having given their support to creating any structural mechanism which would effectively end Congress adding to our national debt year after year and thus addressing the root cause which has brought us to our current national debt of $222 TRILLION, including unfunded debt liabilities.
