    Hello fellow Waukeganite!

In some ways it would have been fun to have the Olympics so close.

Buttttttt Waukegan would have suffered. This is what I heard on the radio. Should Chicago had got the nod they would have begun a clean-up of the undesirables. Guess where they move to? Waukegan is less than an hour from Chicago and the dumping ground of the county. We are talking about the gang-members, druggies, criminals, etc... This had already happened in the past. Chicago closed down some of the 'projects.' I read an article that many of these people had moved to our town.

Can you imagine this??? Clean sweep of an area. I imagine that the beating death this week of a teenager by a large group of other teens didn't help. I heard that blacks in Chicago are angry that Obama hasn't made any statements about this.

    Obama Humiliated On World Stage

    Last Updated: Fri, 10/02/2009 - 3:47pm

President Obama was humiliated on the world stage when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) rejected his personal, last-minute pitch to host the 2016 Olympics in his adopted hometown of Chicago.

International and domestic media are having a blast digging into the overly confident commander-in-chief, who thought he could whiz into Copenhagen and secure the games—and lucrative contracts that come with such an event—for his buddies back home.

But the IOC flatly rejected what one major U.S. media outlet calls “Obama’s politically risky Olympics gamble,â€

“I urge you to choose Chicago," Obama told the IOC.
I heard the speech and this sounded more like a command than a request. IMO.

It thrills me to see this arrogant SOB get his blocked knocked down a few notches. I doubt this will cure his arrogance, and I doubt this will be the last incident to humiliate him.

    Congrats to Rio!
