States Require Gun-Ammo Eligibility Certificate?

WARNING: States across the nation are pushing for radical unconstitutional gun laws that take guns out of the hands of our stand up citizens. At the head of the pack is Connecticut who is ready to pass the most strict, outrageous anti-gun laws in the entire country, and they want the rest of the states to follow their lead.

A new state-issued eligibility certificate would also be needed to purchase any rifle, shotgun or ammunition under the legislation. To get the certificate, a buyer would need to be fingerprinted, take a firearms training course and undergo a national criminal background check and involuntary commitment or voluntary admission check.

Actions are contagious, good or bad. The more that individual states pass radical gun control or anti-gun measures, fees and taxes on gun owners the more our Second Amendment rights are violated and the rest of the states will be willing to make bold anti-gun restrictions.

The best way to stop the outrageous legislation in any state is to contact the States Governors. No law will be passed unless it is signed into law by the State Governor. We must tell every State Governor to stand up for our Second Amendment rights rather than join the trending anti-gun crowd.

There are many inclusions in this Connecticut proposal:

  • A ban on new high capacity magazines.
  • A registration for existing magazines that carry 10 or more rounds.
  • An expansion of the already existing CT Assault Weapons Ban that banned 100 new firearms.
  • State will issue eligibility certificate for you to buy ANY shotgun, rifle, or ammo. - In order to obtain this certificate you must complete a training course, be fingerprinted, and undergo a national criminal background check.
  • It also addresses mental health and the involuntary commitment of people with psychiatric disabilities and school security measures

Here is the worst part of all of this? All of the CT lawmakers understand the impact this could have on all 50 state legislatures. They are craving to become the anti-gun blueprint that could sweep the nation.

CT Senate President Donald E. Williams JR - "In Connecticut, we've broken the mold...That is a message that should resound in 49 other states and in Washington, D.C. And the message is: We can get it done here and they should get it done in their respective states and nationally in Congress."

CT House Speaker Brendan Sharkey - "This is the way to get this job done."

Do not let these lawmakers make the decision for our states. The people of our states must let our state governors know that we will not stand for Second Amendment attacking legislation such as the proposals in CT.

Connecticut is far from the only state to present outrageous anti-gun legislation.

Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, California and Washington State have all presented legislation that would require an additional 10-25% tax on gun and ammunition purchases. On top of the existing federal tax and state sales tax, these 10-25% additional taxes would make many firearms too expensive for consumers.

The Second Amendment Foundation just sued the state of Nebraska over their concealed carry laws. They currently do not allow non-citizens legally living in the state of Nebraska to obtain a concealed weapons permit.

California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania have all introduced gun liability insurance legislation over the past few months. This would require gun owners to acquire liability insurance or face a massive fine. A New York democratic representative is also pushing for this in Congress at a national level.

Two Miami democrats are pushing to get the Florida Stand Your Ground Law revised.

Unfortunately right now the popular thing to do is to speak out against guns, to try to demonize the gun industry. The same way they completely changed the image of the tobacco industry, they are trying to attack the gun culture in America. The difficult thing to do and the right thing to do is stand up for our rights as Citizens. We must tell our State Governors to protect us from all of this legislation.

We need to remember that when our Government was formed and our Constitution was written it was designed to give the states, not the Government, the power to decide for themselves. In a time where Government is growing exponentially it is important to remember that our state can control its own destiny and does not have to follow in the footsteps of big brother.

Since the re-election of Obama there has been constant pressure and threats toward our Second Amendment. The only way to counteract these threats is for Law Abiding gun owners to stand up against them. We must let our State Governors know we do not support any of these proposed anti-gun laws. We voted them in office, they work for us, and they need to protect the rights of our United States' law abiding citizens.

WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO AND WE NEED YOUR HELP.
