NUEVO PROGRESO — From the man who paints tourists’ names on grains of rice to the teenagers selling pirated DVDs, everyone can sum up business in this tourist-dependent Mexican border town in two words.

    “It’s dead,â€
    From the Border Movie:

I will not sell my country out ~ I WILL NOT!
I'd like to see that pride back in AMERICA!!!

In Nuevo Progreso, where the local economy is based almost entirely on U.S. tourists and visitors, the situation is especially dire.

You never bite the hand that feeds you....there or in the US.

This is all thanks to the drug cartels and the violence that is going on.
More innocent people being hurt due to drugs.
It's easy enough to get a passport but nobody wants to cross the border with all the crime and corruption going on.
I used to go into Mexico at least twice a month but I won't cross the border now.
