Thread: Man shot after confronting taggers in Fontana

What? Where's the rest of the physical description? Obviously he got a good look at these thugs? Were they black, white, brown? They seemed to notice the car has 20 inch rims and exactly what these punks were wearing.! Might help with the apprehension of these scum bags if we knew who we were looking for!


A Fontana man was shot Tuesday night after he and his teenage son confronted two taggers with baseball bats, a Fontana Police Department news release said.

The 41-year-old man, whose name was not released, was reported in stable condition at a local hospital after being shot twice -- once in the neck and once in the back, the news release said.

At about 9:32 p.m., the two men, who identified themselves to the victim's son as member of a local gang, tagged a wall in a Fontana neighborhood.

After confronting the two men, the victim and his son returned home.

They were met there by the two men, one of whom had a gun. He fired seven shots, two of which hit the victim, the news release said.

One of the men being sought is described as heavy-set with a bald head, wearing a white T-shirt and checkered shorts.

The other man was wearing a long blue shirt and blue jeans.

Police are also searching a dark Nissan Altima or Mazda with chrome 20-inch rims.

And since I am an EastCoaster for most of my life, I have no idea what a "tagger" is.

Tagger, what is it? I bet it is already here. Looking it up!

Tagger's are punks who are most likely involved in a gang and go around spray painting their gang affiliation name on the walls of buildings as well as anything else they can get their grubby hands on.

We call them drop-outs here in Maine.

Taggers are vandals who spray paint their gang slogans and names all over the place. They mark public and private property. Like a dog marking its territory. They'll mark up your new house , your garage , businesses, bridges, and anything else they can find. They call it art. We call it destruction of property. You paint it and they'll mark it. You paint it again and they'll mark it again. If you see those markings in your area, you'll know the gangs have moved in.

Thanks guys. I get the general drift of "tagger", which I can only call vandals, as the rest of the names I would refer to them by would not be publishable in any circumstances.
I assume they are also claiming territory for their gang.

Your 100% correct VT! Increasingly they are doing so, as this news story suggests, armed and willing to kill anyone who attempts to intervene while they are in the act of claiming their gang territory!

This story also brings home the point that if you see someone doing this, do not approach them. Call the police!

It sounds silly to me for adults to play life like this. They are wasting time, life, and any intellegence they have playing Men.
