Obama Coast Guard stops Jindal's oil sucking barges
Obama Coast Guard stops Jindal's oil sucking barges

This is outrageous!
From ABC.... http://abcnews.go.com/WN/bp-oil-spill-g ... d=10946379
Eight days ago, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal ordered barges to begin vacuuming crude oil out of his state's oil-soaked waters. Today, against the governor's wishes, those barges sat idle, even as more oil flowed toward the Louisiana shore.
Towns along the coast are through waiting for the government's help.
"It's the most frustrating thing," the Republican governor said today in Buras, La. "Literally, yesterday morning we found out that they were halting all of these barges."
Why? The Coast Guard wanted to be sure everyone had a life vest. I kid you not.
The barges sat idle for more than a day but they have finally been allowed to get back to sucking oil.

The Left
The Left should know this if they dont already. Obama is playing politics and allowing far more devastation than there would be if the feds acted sooner and with the purpose of cleaning and containment.

Deepwater Horizon: Vacuum barges allowed back into spill response
Published: Jun 18, 2010
Offshore staff
The Coast Guard says it will allow Louisiana vacuum barges to rejoin the containment work in the Gulf of Mexico to clean the BP oil spill. The Coast Guard earlier removed the barges from service because of concerns about stability, and lifesaving and firefighting equipment.
The Coast Guard incident commander in Houma, Louisiana, and the Coast Guard captain of the Port of New Orleans, consulted and now are satisfied that their concerns have been address and that the vessels are safe.
