Of all the opprobrious anti- American twaddle spewed by Barack Obama in his much exalted Cairo speech, this statement may be one of the most malignant. Obama essentially apologized for what was a colossal CIA success: the removal of Mohammad Mossadegh from power in Iran. The mission, known as Operation Ajax was supported by President Dwight Eisenhower and Winston Churchill. Mossadegh was a crackpot, which is why the left finds him so compelling. Churchill described Mossadegh as “an elderly lunatic bent on wrecking his country and handing it over to the Communists.â€
