China holds successful trial of first aircraft carrier

Beijing: Emerging power of the world China on Sunday materialized its dream to successfully land an aircraft on its first aircraft carrier.

Xinhua news agency confirmed the report on Sunday, saying the aircraft carrier “Liaoning” entered service two months ago, adding that its crew members completed more than 100 training and test programs.

Provided that the aircraft is the first attempt of such kind, it is not yet capable of carrying multitude of planes.

The news agency also said that the occasion, photos of which were published by the defense ministry’s website, was also of a debut of J-15 fighter jet of the People’s Republic. Referring to unanimous naval sources, the agency said the trial had remained successful.

It revealed that the aforementioned fight jet is capable to carry myriad of missiles, such as anti-ship, air-to-air, air-to-ground and precision-guided missiles.

China is the most populous country of the world with a population of over 1.3 billion and is the fastest-growing major economy of the world. The fresh advancement in its military is bound to take it to new heights.
