Report: Obama family leases a $20 million dollar farm for summer vacation


President Obama and his family have rented a farm in Martha's Vineyard for their summer vacation next month. They will start their vacation the last week of August, according to reports.

According to the Vineyard Gazette, the Obamas have rented the Blue Heron Farm. The farm is located on 28.5-acres. No one is quite sure how much the rental is costing the Obamas, but similar properties rent for $35,000 to $50,000 a week.

It has been reported that the Obama family will have access to a private portion of Squibnocket Beach.

The choice of a perfect rental property on Martha's vineyard has taken many months. Over 20 properties had been examined by Obama's aides and the secret service.

President Obama has not officially confirmed his vacation plans.

President Obama will no doubt be criticized for taking such an expensive vacation. People will argue that he doesn't deserve a big vacation when the country is in such bad a bad economic state. Others will say that Obama has been working hard since the day he took office.

I have no problem with him spending 'HIS' money however he likes. However, it damned well better be his money and not ours!

well of course its our money. you also have to fly marine one to an airport then fly them to the island and back. then get it back to DC. then you have all the reporters and staff. that travel on a seperate plane.

I know cuz in 03 i had to take charter buses from dallas to el dorado, ARK the day before bush came to town, and had to pick up the press, using THREE buses. for approximately 45 people with cameras. police escort to and from the airport to the speech.
