Thread: Obama: Was he ever a deacon in his church?

Just wondering: Was Obama and his wife more than just members in the church where the pastor gave hate-filled sermons for many years?

That is, many churches have positions like deacons who help pastors run the churches' day to day operations.

So, does anyone know if Obama---or his wife---ever held an official position in his church over the past 20 years?

I have not heard that being reported by anyone, anywhere so I doubt it. I think if that were the case, then the media would definately run with that.
If it is just a possibility that it could have happened, then I think Obama would have mentioned it in his speech because the media would have a field day with that one after everything else that has been going on. He would have wanted to "clarify" that situation also. So again, I highly doubt it. He was (is) just a LOYAL member of the "I hate America" church.
