    Time:
    12:00pm - 2:00pm
    Location:
    Senator Snowe's Auburn Office
    Street:
    2 Great Falls Plaza Suite 7B

    Auburn, ME

    Good Evening Everyone-

    We have just received information that MoveOn.org plans to rally at Senator Snowe's Auburn office tomorrow, August 13th at noon.

    Seeing as they are so concerned with the "right-wing" extremists dominating the public discourse on health care reform, I'm thinking that there should be some of us there to provide fair and balanced representation on the issue.

    If you can make it at NOON please do!

    Your local MoveOn Council is organizing an important event tomorrow in Auburn—can you be there?

    We're taking action at events like these because this is a make-or-break moment—right-wing extremists are crashing political events around the country and trying to dominate the public debate over President Obama's agenda.

    We can't let that happen in Auburn. Local MoveOn members are making sure Sen. Olympia Snowe knows that we're counting on her to support health care reform with a real public health insurance option that will help expand coverage and bring down costs for all of us.

    The event is on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at 12:00 PM in Auburn. Click here for more details and to RSVP:

    Yes, I'll be there on Thursday at 12 p.m.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    At noon, we will meet at 2 Great Falls Plaza in Auburn and pass out flyers encouraging people to contact Senator Snowe and let her know that she needs to support a strong Public Option.

    We will meet in the lobby of the building at noon. I will bring all the flyers. I will have two large signs, making it easy to find me!

    Sen. Snowe needs to hear from her local constituents. Right-wingers are doing everything they can to hijack the debate—they're even using fraudulent tactics, like bringing people who don't live in the district to town halls.1 That's why we're organizing "Real Voices for Change"—an ambitious campaign to show that the overwhelming majority of Americans continue to support Obama's plans for change.

    We have numbers on our side, but Sen. Snowe won't know it unless we all show up. Coming to this event is a timely and easy way to make sure thoughtful constituents are heard in the public debate over health care. Can you join us on Thursday at 12 p.m.?

    LA Times blog: Wanted: Obama healthcare reform volunteers willing to be paid $15 an hour

    If you go to Snowe's office, be sure to carry a sign: "I wasn't paid to be here."

    ================================================

    Just saw a couple of emails in my inbox from overnight regarding this. I can't be there but I'll plan to send a fax to the Augusta office during the noon hour indicating that my sympathies are with the grassroots folks with handmade signs, not with the organized lefties.

    Secret service or union thugs?

    I just returned from Auburn, 9:30am. I observed several unmarked suburbans with well-dressed men, wearing ear-pieces, in and around the area of the event.

    "Who's paying these people?"

    The Shadow President--George Soros.

    I just returned from Auburn, 9:30am. I observed several unmarked suburbans with well-dressed men, wearing ear-pieces, in and around the area of the event. But then Oylmpia is wealthy in her own right, so it could be private.

    "Several" people sounds like heavy-duty secret service protection, I didn't know that senators got that, but our government has gotten so huge that another million or two for each congressman is a drop in the bucket.

    I think that Harry Reid may have authorized that to make sure the public doesn't get near any of out elected officials, because then they might have to smell them, which would be horrible!

    ====================================

    It stuns me how far out of touch our congresspeople are. They live in a world completely insulated from how any real people live.

    Can someone find the link here at AMG that quotes Snowe as saying... "we aren't talking about government run healthcare"

    \+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Please someone print a postex...Grassley is in trouble for his Vichy Republican efforts....Snowe always needs a reminder as to who she works for.

    ====================================

    I just returned from the "event". There were about 2 or 3 people passing out leaflets for the pro reform side. There were about 2 dozen "right wing" citizens holding signs in opposition to Obama-care. I was surprised by the meager turn out of Obama supporters. Many from the opposition went to senator Snowe's office to register our displeasure with the health care reform bill. I have pictures and video that I will post if someone would be kind enough to instruct me.

    Thanks for the report. I did at least send off a fax to that office just before noon. I haven't been back in Maine long enough to get a full appreciation for Snowe but my guess is that as long as she brings home some bacon and otherwise peacefully coexists in DC, she's happy. Barack and Harry are playing her for a fool.

    That does not take Obama or Reid

    There were Secret Service at the Harvard graduation who surrounded me when I attempted to berate President Drew Gilpin Faust for coming out in support of illegal aliens and the Dream Act. Secretary Stephen Chu was there and gave a speech but I was surprised by the use of Secret Service for a Cabinet Secretary.
    I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
