White shoppers call for boycott after black Sam’s Club CEO rips lack of diversity

White shoppers call for boycott after black Sam’s Club CEO Rosalind Brewer rips lack of diversity with company's top suppliers

Sam’s Club CEO Rosalind Brewer, who is black, angered dozens of white meatheads when she said that high-ranking positions with the company's top suppliers are often filled by white males.

Brewer made the comments to CNN's Poppy Harlow after she was asked about diversity within the company.

"Just today we met with a supplier, and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males," Brewer said during the interview. "That was interesting.

I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier's] folks in the room because there were actually no females, like, levels down. So I'm going to place a call to him."

Brewer also told Poppy Harlow “my executive team is very diverse, and I make that a priority. I demand it of my team and within the structure.

And then, every now and then, you have to nudge your partners, and you have to speak up and speak out."

Many people are now speaking out against Brewer, calling her racist and using the Twitter hashtag "BoycottRacistSamsClub." Sam's Club, which has 650 stores nationwide, is owned by Walmart.

"I am so disappointed in you @SamsClub You should be ASHAMED! I'm NOT spending another cent! #BoycottRacistSamsClub," read one tweet.

"If Sams Club hates white males so much, then we'll take our business elsewhere!," read another.

"You hired a CEO based on race instead of skillset," another user wrote.

Some people on social media did come to Brewer's defense.

"Did the ppl who are outraged & tweeting about a #SamsClub #boycott actually here the interview or just jumping on the hype?" one user tweeted.

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon could not immediately be reached for comment, but he praised Brewer in a statement.

For years, we've asked our suppliers to prioritize the talent and diversity of their sales teams calling on our company," McMillon said.

"Roz was simply trying to reiterate that we believe diverse and inclusive teams

make for a stronger business. That's all there is to it and I support that important ideal."

Thank your lucky stars that white men MADE this country what it is by forming and declaring our Constitution.

Is there another country you would prefer? Don't think you would be a CEO of anything elsewhere.

This isn't how it's supposed to work. This promotion of "diversity" is not the same thing as equal rights. So what she was saying is "oh, my, all white guys, I don't like this, I'm calling your boss to get you fired because of your race." That is outright and total undeniable reverse discrimination by Walmart.

Walmart, listen up. I love your company. You provide such a wonderful service in the communities where you have stores. I'm not a Sam's Club shopper because I'm not into "clubs" with membership fees or rules.

Denigrating whites or men for their race or sex is not how you raise up black and females. You make sure the playing field is level, you make sure discrimination against them does not exist and you guarantee them equal opportunity.

This was such an inappropriate interview by the Sam's Club CEO. Oh my God, horrible. She sounds like a wonderful person, wanting to do a good job, but her judgment was totally wrong. She won't discuss it with the white men in the meeting that she has a problem with, oh no, she decided instead to go behind their backs and call their boss, then go on CNN and broadcast it to the world in an interview with some white female named "Poppy".

Really, Walmart, out of the thousands and thousands of hard working, smart people you have working for your company, including thousands and thousands of blacks and women, and this was the best person you could find to be CEO of Sam's Club?

    HONESTLY? Pathetic. Pitiful.
