As a typical democrat does, President Obama is never satisfied with current tax rates, he always wants more. And with the looming budget sequester making some $85 billion in what liberals are calling "devastating cuts", Obama is signaling the only way he is going to make a deal is to demand more taxes be a part of it.
Never mind that the President got some $600 billion in tax hikes on producers making over $400,000 per year, and of course we know how taxes find a way to be passed on to the middle class anyway, that isn't enough for Obama. But this time, as he did somewhat last time, Speaker of the House John Boehner says he is not giving in on the President's demands. Oh how we wish we could believe Boehner. When the President puts on the pressure with the aid of the State Run Media, the Speaker seems to cave so Republicans don't look bad. But this time, Senator Ron Johnson is saying, if Boehner caves in and agrees to Obama's tax demands, Boehner is gone as Speaker.
Here are Senator Johnson's exact words, “I don’t quite honestly believe that Speaker Boehner would be speaker if that happens, I think he would lose his speakership.” We hope that is true. We hope that someone is willing at some point to stand up to Obama, who is not interested in compromise at all, and say to him, not this time Mr President, no new taxes, no way, no how, forget it.
Watch the video below with a statement from Boehner to the President saying, "you got your tax increase," and Ron Johnson's remarks:
