Wow, I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't give up my legs for free health insurance.

What these people in this video are saying about Canada's socialized system is true. I've worked in the medical x-ray field for many years and every one of our sales and service members in Canada talk about this same thing. Many smaller facilities still have x-ray and diagnostic imaging equipment that is more than 20 years old. Here in the US, most facilities, including small hospitals typically have equipment that is less than 10 years old. The larger chains will always have the latest and greatest.

Socialized medicine is not the answer. Regulation of the insurance companies is. Make no mistakes folks, every insurance company is a business. Like any other business, they are in it to make a profit.

However, I can also state that medical equipment companies are a huge part of the US healthcare dilema. On the average, a typical Cath Lab that contains all the bells and whistles will cost close to (if not more) $20 million dollars. This same cost estimate also applies to CT scanners, MRI's and other equipment. This is why it costs a minimum of $1,000 per CT scan (slice) and even much higher for an MRI
The markup on medical equipment products is outrageous.
