We’re all familiar with the saying “it takes one to know one.” In the case of President Obama, perhaps the saying should be “it takes the victims of one to know one.”

Throughout Obama’s national career, from his first presidential campaign through his re-election, some of the most dedicated opponents of his presidency I’ve met have been immigrants from former communist countries.

Every one of them tells virtually identical stories about how the communists came to power slowly, with popular support, promising government handouts, then once they had secured power, the real tyranny began. And every one of them relates that actual experience of life under communism to the policies, goals and actions of the Obama Administration.

Now, Pravda, the former state news organ of the Soviet Union, has published a column by Xavier Lerma blasting Obama for moving America toward a Soviet-style system and comparing him with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s moves toward a more free-market society.

The article summarizes Obama’s Administration and popularity thusly: “He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia. Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.”

By way of comparison, the Pravda article quotes Putin, from a speech he gave in 2009:

“We are reducing taxes on production, investing money in the economy. We are optimizing state expenses.
” The second possible mistake would be excessive interference into the economic life of the country and the absolute faith into the all-mightiness of the state.

“There are no grounds to suggest that by putting the responsibility over to the state, one can achieve better results.

“Unreasonable expansion of the budget deficit, accumulation of the national debt – are as destructive as an adventurous stock market game.”

Pravda rightly points out that Obama is taking the United States down exactly the opposite path, which will eventually have the same results it had in the Soviet Union, total stagnation and inability to compete.

It is an interesting role reversal that the former mouthpiece of the Soviet Kremlin now sounds a trumpet about what it sees as communist encroachment in the United States.

“President Vladimir Putin could never have imagined anyone so ignorant or so willing to destroy their people like Obama,” the article continues, “much less seeing millions vote for someone like Obama. They read history in America don’t they? Alas, the schools in the U.S. were conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised thus paving the way for their Communist presidents.”

Pravda also sees what many of us conservatives have been experiencing, but which the Left denies — a war on Christianity and traditional morality by atheists and other liberals — and connects it to Russia’s own bloody history.
“Christianity in the U.S. is under attack as it was during the early period of the Soviet Union when religious symbols were against the law,” the article states.

“… Russia lost its civil war with the Reds and millions suffered torture and death for almost 75 years under the tyranny of the United Soviet Socialist Republic. Russians survived with a new and stronger faith in God and ever growing Christian Church. The question is how long will the once ‘Land of the Free’ remain the United Socialist States of America? Their suffering has only begun.”

Surely it will prove to be one of history’s great ironies if Russia winds up one day fully embracing the principles of liberty while we repeat the mistakes of communism.

You know there’s trouble on the horizon when leaders of formerly Communist countries are warning Americans about the dangers of redistribution, taxation and the centralization of monetary and economic policy.

He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so.

How shrewd he is in America.

His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia. Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.

Reading Putin’s speech without knowing the author, one would think it was written by Reagan or another conservative in America. The speech promotes smaller government and less taxes. It comes as no surprise to those who know Putin as a conservative. Vladimir Putin went on to say:

During the time of the Soviet Union the role of the state in economy was made absolute, which eventually lead to the total non-competitiveness of the economy.

There should be no question as to whether President Obama is a Socialist.But socialism is just the appetizer; Communism is the main course.His rhetoric, and more importantly his actions, have left no doubt that his personal ideologies are rooted within a concept that has been vehemently rejected by Americans throughout our nation’s history:

“Jeder nach seinen Fähigkeiten, jedem nach seinen Bedürfnissen!”

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

It’s an idea spread by the socialist movements of the mid 1800′s and made popular by economic and political philosopher Karl Marx, and one that has arguably been responsible for the imprisonment and death of over 200 million people throughout the 20th century.

By all accounts, the ideas of Marx fundamentally transformed the face of the planet – and not necessarily for the betterment of society. If anything, his ideas have led to less personal liberty and more State control over every aspect of the peoples’ lives.
Despite its failures, however, there are many who, perhaps unwittingly, still support Communism’s core principles.

In fact, at least 60 million Americans (51%) support such left-leaning socialist / communist policies, as evidenced by our last Presidential election. To them, there exists a Utopia where the rich, wealthy and those deemed “more fortunate” can be pillaged to create equality for all.

But like all illusions, and regardless of President Obama’s best efforts to create a perfect society, State control over food, housing, technology, travel and the general economy will end in complete and utter failure.

We need look only at the Soviet Union to understand what the end result will be.

President Obama wants to fundamentally transform the United States of America. He and the rest of our elected officials are doing their damnedest to make that happen.



What should scare us all is that there’s a strong possibility, given the current economic, social and political climate in this country, that they will be successful in their attempts to do so.
