We are on a fast-track to becoming a 3rd World country. We manufacture very little, we seem to be content to buy cheap China and Mexico goods.

We are more of a throw-away society every day, and it seems we are gradually accepting a new throw-away of American lives. Our government is showing us in the most blantant ways that Americans do not matter. Our votes do not get us honest politicians, no matter what party they represent.

I wonder if there is any hope for us.

During the trials, trouble, and turmoil ahead of us men will finally realize that toys and things don’t matter and are not in the league with faith, friends, and family.

In my mind, there's no doubt that we're heading downhill economically.

The federal government continues to seize more power (through governmental expansion and regulation) and more wealth (through taxation and inflation) from the citizens while always trying to centrally plan an economy that is weakening further as time passes. As a result, people have lost their sense of responsibility and have become ever more self-entitled demanding more for less or little to earn it.

While also expanding its power, numerous special interest groups, namely corporatists and unions, have used their political power and wealth to enact barriers to entry and unequal laws that benefit themselves while complicating the lives of others.

In addition, many class, race, ethnic, and gender-based preferential laws create tension in society in a long failed attempt to socially engineer society while only exacerbating it.

Let's also not forget the never-ending overseas U.S. military presence which has already cost the tax payers billions, if not trillions, while not improving international relations at all.

Until more people in the U.S. begin to embrace free-market capitalism, self-responsibility, and limited government instead of welfare statism, governmental dependency, and central planning there is not much hope at all.
