    Opt-out of Taxpayer Stimulus

This is an email I sent out to my email list:

    Dear friends, family, and others,

So many of us are repulsed by the 'stimulus' passed in the first few weeks of Obama's administration. He spent trillions bailing out faulty businessmen, and what does the American taxpayer get? $13 a week in their paycheck!

I've heard many people ask about the stimulus, only to see them all become disappointed and shocked at the same upon hearing the truth.

The stimulus is simply an adjustment to the form W-4 (the form we all fill out when starting a new job that asks about tax withholding and exemptions). The W-4 rates are changed to keep $13/week in everyone's paycheck. We aren't getting an extra $13/week, it's just the government won't be taking it from us.

    Here's my idea:

Each of us who works should fill out a new W-4 and on line 6, where it asks "Additional amount, if any, you want withheld from each paycheck" we all put in $13 in the space.

We won't notice any change, it will be just like it is now. It may not change anything, the government may not even notice. But it's one small step we can take in protest to the mass amounts of inane spending we are dealing with.
The flag flies at half-mast out of grief for the death of my beautiful, formerly-free America. May God have mercy on your souls.
    RIP USA 7/4/1776 - 11/04/2008

I keep asking everyone if the Stimulus Package has helped them any?
