EL PASO — A special drug enforcement unit seized $4.26 million worth of cocaine at an El Paso house and arrested four men on possession charges, police said Thursday.

The cocaine, which weighed about 59 pounds, was being stored in the garage when members of the a so-called "stash house unit" raided the house on Wednesday, authorities said.

Arrested on possession of controlled substance over 400 grams were: Martin Ismael Herrera, 41, of El Paso; Ricardo Alba, 36, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Eduardo Peraza, 31, of Tucson, Ariz.; and Miguel Ramon Bojorquez, 22, also of Tucson.

The men were being held in the El Paso County jail on bonds of $500,000 each Thursday. It was not immediately clear who their attorneys were.

The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area's Stash House unit consists of members of local, state and federal agencies who work together to identify houses where large amounts of narcotics are stored before being moved to another location for distribution, said El Paso Police Detective Carlos Carrillo.
