Palin's Alaska Church Damaged in Suspicious Fire
Larry Kroon, pastor of the Wasilla Bible Church, estimates damages at more than $1 million

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Gov. Sarah Palin's home church has been badly damaged in a suspicious fire.

Larry Kroon, pastor of the Wasilla Bible Church, estimates damages at more than $1 million to the church.

Kroon declined to say if the blaze was politically based or directed at Palin, the failed Republican vice presidential candidate.

Kroon says the fire broke out Friday night while a small group of women were working on crafts. They were alerted to the blaze by a fire alarm.

Kroon says he was called and by the time he got to the church, smoke was pouring out of the building. Sprinklers kept the fire from spreading beyond offices and classrooms.

Authorities are not immediately commenting, but Kroon says he's been told the fire is being investigated as a crime.

I got an email from teamsarah last night about the fire and suspected arson. The damage is estimated at $1 million dollars and everything they had to help needy families (which they routinely do) for the holidays has been lost. In the following is excepts from information coming into teamsarah. Apparently people in Alaska have been getting hate filled emails now for some time. The church is meeting today in an undisclosed location for their safety. JUST SO YOU KNOW, I got the information for the Chambliss runoff and how to make calls for him on this site.

Palin spokesman Bill McAllister said the governor stopped by the church Saturday morning and apologized if the incident was related to her. (NOTE: This is an unfortunate statement: Governor Palin has nothing to "apologize" for. A more accurate stsatement- "Governor Palin expressed regret if the undeserved...")

In a written statement McAllister said Palin, "told an assistant pastor that she apologizes if the incident is in any way connected to the undeserved negative attention the church has received since she became a vice presidential candidate on Aug. 29. Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good."

According to Team Sarah members who live in Alaska, local media have been receiving vile hate mail regarding Sarah Palin for some time now. The reason why this suspicious fire, which according to local sources the Pastor firmly believes, based on feedback from authorities, was arson, is raising alarms is primarily because of all these communications. It has not been confirmed yet if there were any threats.

The church itself has come under fire from activists who opposed Sarah Palin, accusing them of seeking to burn witches and other intolerance and making remarks that may be deemed to be threatening, although I have received no information that any specific threats were made.

It is also possible that the fire, if it is arson, was an arsonist who wanted attention or someone with a very different motive.

Team Sarah, a community of over 61,500 Palin supporters, just announced a fundraiser for helping the Church in Wasilla, Alaska, to recover from these damages. The announcement is here: http://www.teamsarah.org/profiles/blogs ... team-sarah

Where's all the screaming about "hate crimes" from the pro-illegals who insist that they are not biased and motivated by race but concerned for all races?

I'm sure the ACLU couldn't care less. All the hate calling seems to come in actions from the other side of things. LOL
