When people work they earn money, they spend that money, and that’s what gets the economy up and going," Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told NBC's "Meet the Press."

I doubt Ms Waters ever held a real job in her life therefore she does not understand jobs are created by building a product to sell, not printing money and giving it to a group of your friends.

Keep that welfare train rolling liberals and we can ride the golden goose into the ground.

This country and more importantly our government is out of control and that includes every agency and the way too many unqualified employees in these agencies, get their jobs. Not only are the systems antiquated, so is the way that the agencies are operated. Couple that with the outdated hiring practices of chronyism (ie who you know not your level of intelligence) and the automatic step increases and raises that the favored employees receive not based on merit but simply "time served and who you know" and you have the mess we are in today. Agencies losing billions of dollars with nobody being held accountable, employees on crack and getting several chances to maintain their cushy jobs, get promoted and still receive their check while they go through the motions of rehab or simply showing up occasionally.

Our government, its hiring practices and their policy of who you know determining how high you go (salary and promotions) is an outrage. The entire system needs to be totally restructured and updated. NOBODY is being held accountable from the the bottom to the top. Currently the inmates are running the asylum.

Who in the world is going to oversee and keep track of where and how these TRILLIONS of dollars will be SPENT, STOLEN, WASTED and MISSAPROPRIATED?

I can see the blaring headlines already of failure . . . .

I would say that 2012 is about the last chance for sanity.
