Biden is 92% out of touch with reality

Biden is 92% out of touch with reality
Opinion by Esther Wickham - 2h ago

President Joe Biden responded to a reporter on Tuesday regarding whether or not Democratic voters want him to run for reelection in 2024, and his response reveals how aware he is of voters' confidence in him as president.

Getting quite defensive, Biden quickly stated that 92% of voters wanted him to run again in the presidential election. From where he got that number, no one knows.
"They want me to run," Biden said. "Read the poll. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me."
But Biden is taking that poll grossly out of context. Yes, 92% of Democratic voters said they would pick Biden if he were to run against former President Donald Trump again, but a majority of Democrats hope that Biden isn't their nominee. In fact, an astounding 94% of Democratic voters under the age of 30 want someone other than Biden on the ballot.
Since Biden's approval rating is 33%, it is not hard to see that Americans, even Democrats, want someone new. According to a New York Times/Siena College poll, 64% of voters would prefer the Democratic Party to nominate a different candidate.

"You know, there's going to be many polls," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. "They are going to go up, and they are going to go down. This is not the thing that we are solely focused on."
But if the administration is not focused on regaining Democratic voters' confidence, then what is it focused on?
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Democrats are going to realize that hiding behind the claim, "We are a better option than Trump," won't work for long if they appear to be driving the economy into the ground. The Biden administration needs to stop comparing itself to Trump and start fixing things.
The reality is that people are not satisfied with the Biden administration. It is simply naive to think that the majority of people want Biden to run for reelection in 2024 — certainly not 92% of them. It's nothing new, but it goes to show how far removed Biden is from the public if he thinks they love him that much.

Biden's approval ratings hit all-time lows in CNBC poll

Biden's approval ratings hit all-time lows in CNBC poll

    Mark Murray - 2h ago

Anew CNBC poll, conducted by the same polling firms that helm the NBC News poll, finds President Joe Biden’s overall approval rating sinking to 36% among all adults, while his approval rating for handling the economy has fallen to 30% — both all-time lows for the president in CNBC polling.

What’s more, Biden’s ratings are lower than the worst scores ever for Donald Trump (37% job rating, 41% economic handling) or Barack Obama (41% job rating, 37% economic handling) during the entire course of their presidencies, according to both the CNBC and NBC surveys.
The new CNBC poll also shows just 11% of Americans believing the economy is either “excellent” (1%) or “good” (10%), compared with a combined 88% who say it’s “only fair” (30%) or “poor” (58%).

Additionally, 22% say the economy will get better in the next year, another 22% say it will stay the same and 52% think it will get worse.
These rough numbers for Biden — as well as pessimistic attitudes about the economy — come as the U.S. economy continues to add hundreds of thousands of jobs each month, plus as the unemployment rate has declined below 4.0%. But they also come as inflation increased by 9.1% over the past year, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The CNBC poll was conducted July 7-10, and has an overall margin of error of plus-minus 3.5 percentage points.

Young voters 'fed up' with Biden says New York Times, highlights only 1% ‘strongly approve’ of president

    Gabriel Hays - 4h ago

A new report in the New York Times examined the public’s perception of the country’s leadership and detailed just how poorly young Democrats view President Joe Biden.

For the Thursday article, New York Times reporters Maya King and Jonathan Weisman spoke to several young voters to get their opinion on Biden and the nation's current political leadership. As the title of the piece indicated, these voters are "Fed Up" with these "older," "out of touch" leaders.
At the outset of the piece, the reporters featured the opinion of Alexandra Chadwick, who, at the age of 22, voted for Joe Biden "with the singular goal of ousting Donald Trump."
She told the outlet that she saw "Joseph R. Biden Jr. as more of a safeguard than an inspiring political figure, someone who could stave off threats to abortion access, gun control and climate policy." But "as the Supreme Court has eroded federal protections on all three, Ms. Chadwick now sees President Biden and other Democratic leaders as lacking both the imagination and willpower to fight back," the piece stated.

Chadwick asked, "How are you going to accurately lead your country if your mind is still stuck 50, 60 or 70 years ago?"
Chadwick’s testimony is part of the larger "discontent" young people are feeling towards current leadership. King and Weisman stated, "While voters across the spectrum express rising doubts about the country’s political leadership, few groups are as united in their discontent as the young."
Citing the recent New York Times-Siena College poll’s survey of young voters, they wrote, "just 1 percent of 18-to-29-year-olds strongly approve of the way Mr. Biden is handling his job. And 94 percent of Democrats under 30 said they wanted another candidate to run two years from now."
