Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Voters flooded Capitol Hill offices today with complaints about the U.S. House's defeat of the $700 billion financial-rescue plan, a House Republican leadership aide said.

The tenor of the calls is a reversal from an earlier outpouring of voter opposition to the bailout legislation, the aide said.

The people of this country have spoken. The bailout legislation has been defeated. They oppose the bankers' bailout. Backroom arm-twisting is an unacceptable hijacking of democracy. I will not accept any vote change in favor of the bailout.

What a crock. There's no mass calling to Republicans blaming them for not passing a bill.

If there is any of that going on at all it is a product of the elites making it happen or their highly biased coverage on TV yesterday.

To many people on TV made it sound like them not passing a bill was a bad thing.

I do believe it is propaganda. I did hear from a Republican who voted for it that people were calling to thank him. Watching the market drop scared people, but he was probably just being a bit of a jerk too.

IT is time to ignore everything and JUST ROAR NO!!!! They are trying to confuse us so we do not know what to do! This is the time to be focused and TAKE ACTION!!!! There are million just like us doing the same thing! It will take us all to stop this!

Watching the media is just mind boggling! They insist that we're stupid, and they keep insisting that most of us actually do want this.

I'll tell you what - I should show you a picture of the foreclosure that's down the road from me. ,,It's beautiful, on the outside. But the inside? It's trashed. Totally trashed. And they're asking more than $400,000 for it! It's insane! Nothing in this area sells for nearly that much!.

The houses that they want the government to buy, with a vague promise of making a profit on? Those things have been sitting empty for years. Even in the best neighborhoods, the deadbeat owners rip out literally everything when they leave, including cabinets and copper pipes.

Between that abuse and the market being down in general, there's a reason that the rainmakers won't pay .50 on the dollar for these things. It has less to do with market condition than it does with property condition.

And they think I am stupid? Because I just don't understand the bailout? BS!

God forbid they actually just auction them off.

It's just terrible that the people in Washington seem to have a big "SUCKER" sign on their foreheads.

Good point Angela. I noticed the media brought on a lot of pro-bailout people last night and today. They have lost all credibility in my eyes, Suze Orman especially. They are trying to sell this as an 'investment'. What a joke.

MSM is letting people on tv who keep flashing the fear card. They are trying to get the people to back off, and we can't let that happen. Blog, people, blog everywhere. On other sites, in your newspapers, but let as many people as you can know this is all a ploy to get people to stop protesting this bailout. Obama is out on the trail fearmongering. He's saying people won't be able to get a car, or a house, or a loan to send their kids to scholl. Let the public know that he's only doing this because he owes his contributors favors.

We all know this is a bunch of BS. There are far more people who want this bailout to die. These people realize that this bailout is like paying your mortgage with a credit card when you don't have a job. To say that there are far more people who are for the bailout IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. Anyone who wants this bailout is STUPID. Take your socialist propaganda and get lost.
