A 50-year-old woman who was pepper-sprayed during an attempted purse snatching is on life-support after suffering a stroke shortly following the attack.

Westminster police officer Rachel Arshambow says Kun Min Kim had just gotten home from work and was getting out her car. She was attacked in the carport area of her apartment complex.

"She exited the car and the suspect approached and sprayed her in the face with pepper spray," Arshambow says. "The suspect grabbed the bag the woman was carrying, and fled the area."

Instead of grabbing the victim's purse, the attacker took her lunch bag. The woman later had a stroke and was taken to the hospital.

Arshambow says the suspect is a Hispanic woman in her 20's who was wearing a gray sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the attacker is urged to call Westminster police Detective Kevin MacCormick at (714) 898-3315, extension 340.
