Being Patriotic is supporting one's Country, that being said, do you take the time to seek out Products and services that proudly display the "Made in The USA" label ?

The United States has been operating at a trade deficit since the 1970s, importing more goods and services into our country than we export elsewhere. The trade deficit has widened significantly in the past decade, ballooning from about $108 billion in 1997 to $708 billion in 2007, as more and more companies turn to cheaper overseas labor to produce stuffed animals, jeans, blood thinners and even organic produce.

It isn't all that difficult to locate these products yet, with the flood of available, cheap imported good why does one even bother going that extra mile ? Once you start looking and you have a little patience, you can find what you want. I've decide to assist by providing a list of websites.

There are many other alternatives through which you can support American workers.

When you shop for food, frequent the grocery store that uses unionized workers, seek out brands you think are most likely to be domestically produced. Make the effort to visit the farmer's market for fresh, local produce and bread from a local baker.

The President and Congress just released these so-called stimulus checks to promote our economy yet, if everyone simply rushes out and buys-buys-buys without thinking, that check is gone and all we've done is put more profits in foriegners hands and employed more foriegn workers.

Take a bit of time, be selective and prudent and the job you save just might be your own !

Here is a list of websites that offer "Made in The USA" They are not arranged in any particular order so you will need to visit the site to browse the items they offer. Good Luck !

It's hard enough these days to find things that are actually made in the USA. With so many products being made overseas (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Brazil), trying to find an authentically "American" product can be like finding a needle in a haystack. It may sound unbelievable, but the federal government had to pass a law in order to determine which products sold in the US can actually be labeled as being "Made in the USA". According to the Federal Trade Commission, there are certain standards that an item must meet before it can proudly wear the label "Made in the USA".

I hope people use these links. We need to support American manufactures to keep our ecconomy going. The more we depend on other nations to provide us with products, food and energy, the worse things will get for us. When the US had its own manufacturing base more people were employed and the ecconomy was strong.

I'll be using them, and I hope others do, too. Remember this saying that was popular a couple of decades ago?: "Buy American, the job you save may be your own".
