Police called to MoveOn protest at Rep. Hunter's office

    By The San Diego Union-Tribune
    February 24, 2011 at 7:19 p.m.

Police were called to Rep. Duncan Hunter's El Cajon office Thursday after protestors with MoveOn.org arrived and demanded to meet with the Republican congressman.

El Cajon police said they were called by Hunter's office and dispatched a sergeant and an officer, Lt. Jeff Arvan said. He said any issues the staff had with protestors were resolved before the two officers got there. Most of the protestors with the Democratic-leaning organization had left by then. There was no further police action.

Ron Wilson, a MoveOn member from Santee, said he was among about 19 people who showed up at Hunter's office around noon seeking to question the congressman about several issues, particularly his position on the federal budget.

He said Hunter did not meet with them.
